# Banners Overview

This guide follows the current `cms-block-banner` flow for managing page-level banners in CMS.

## Video Walkthrough

## Page Overview

The video shows a two-level banner workflow:

1. Open `Blocks > Banners`.
2. Find the target page such as `Weekly Raffle`, `VIP Club`, or `Promotions`.
3. Open that page to manage its banner records.
4. Add a new banner or edit an existing one.
5. Save, then verify the record in the correct status tab.

## Step 1: Open the Correct Page

1. Go to `Blocks > Banners`.
2. Use the top tabs:
 - `Published`
 - `Unpublished`
 - `Trash`
3. Use `Search` to quickly find the page row you want to work on.
4. Click the arrow on the target page row to open its banner list.

Important:

- The first screen is a page list, not the banner form.
- Each page keeps its own separate banner records.
- If you need to work on a different page, return to the main list and open that page row.

## Step 2: Review the Banner List for That Page

Inside the selected page, the video shows:

- `Add Banner`
- `Edit Sequence No.`
- status tabs: `Published`, `Unpublished`, `Trash`
- filters: `Search`, `Language`, `Platform`
- `Clear Filter`

Use this screen to locate an existing banner before you edit, publish, unpublish, or trash it.

## Step 3: Add a New Banner

1. Open the required page from the banner list.
2. Click `Add Banner`.
3. Fill the `General Details` section.
4. Fill the `Banner Properties` section.
5. Add editor content if needed.
6. Upload the required media.
7. Click `Save`.

## Step 4: Fill the General Details Section

Fields visible in the video:

- `Platform`: multi-select (`Web`, `Mobile`)
- `Status`: choose whether the banner starts as `Published` or `Unpublished`
- `Show For Users`: `Guest`, `Logged In`, `Guest and Logged In`
- `New Window`: `Yes` or `No`
- `Sequence No.`: ordering index

Notes:

- Select the platform carefully so the banner appears in the correct app surface.
- `Show For Users` controls who can see the banner.
- Use `New Window = Yes` only when the linked destination should open in a new tab/window.
- `Sequence No.` controls order within the same page and platform set.

## Step 5: Fill the Banner Properties Section

The video shows these fields:

- `Title *`
- `Language` (`Turkish` / `English`)
- `Url` type dropdown
- URL input (`See Suggestions or type a URL`)
- `Alt text`
- `Editor`
- `Media *` upload area

Important field rules:

- `Title *` should clearly identify the banner record in the CMS list.
- `Language` decides which language version this banner belongs to.
- `Alt text` should describe the banner image for accessibility and clarity.
- `Media *` is required, so the banner cannot be saved without an uploaded asset.

Language note:

- If the page needs both Turkish and English banners, create separate banner records.
- Do not overwrite the Turkish record when you actually need a separate English version.

Default behavior shown in the video:

- When you create a banner normally, it is first created for the default Turkish side.
- If the English side shows `Not Translated`, open the banner again with `Edit`.
- Then add the English-specific values as well, including the poster/media, `Title`, and editor content.
- After saving both versions properly, the banner can appear in both languages.

## Step 6: Save and Verify the Banner

After clicking `Save`, return to the banner list and verify:

1. The banner appears in the correct tab (`Published` or `Unpublished`).
2. The `Language` and `Platform` filters still show the record correctly.
3. The sequence number is correct compared with the other banners on that page.

If you do not see the banner immediately, clear the filters and check the other status tab.

## Step 7: Edit, Publish, Unpublish, or Trash Existing Banners

Use the row actions from the page-specific banner list to manage existing records:

- edit a banner record
- move a record between `Published` and `Unpublished`
- move a record to `Trash`
- restore a record from the `Trash` tab when needed

What to check:

- Use the status tabs to confirm where the record currently lives.
- Use `Trash` only when you want the record removed from active usage.
- After publish or unpublish, recheck the correct tab before leaving the page.

## Step 8: Manage Sequence Order

1. Use `Sequence No.` while creating or editing a banner.
2. Use `Edit Sequence No.` when you need to review ordering across several banners together.
3. Save and recheck the final order in the list.

Best practice:

- Keep sequence values intentional and easy to read.
- Recheck ordering every time a new banner is added to the same page.

## Filter Workflow

Use the page-level banner filters to narrow the list:

- `Search`
- `Language`
- `Platform`

## Quick Troubleshooting

- Banner does not appear on the site: verify `Status`, `Platform`, `Show For Users`, `Language`, and the selected page.
- Wrong language is showing: create or edit the correct language-specific banner record.
- Banner cannot be saved: check `Title *` and `Media *`.
- Banner order is wrong: update `Sequence No.` or use `Edit Sequence No.`.
- Banner seems missing: clear filters and review `Published`, `Unpublished`, and `Trash`.
